This is based on the link which Heechul himself had tweeted back in December. It’s just an article pointing out the significant points in Heechul’s life as a celebrity, and if you pay a visit to the link of the source (provided at the end of the article’s translations), you will see certain fonts in the article which are in pink – these are links to videos which back the various statements made in the article.

Kim Heechul: “On Heaven and on Earth, Heechul dominates. Kim Kibok¹ . And the most conceited four-worded idiom ‘self-praising’² . Unable to differentiate whether (he’s) a man or woman, can’t differentiate clearly whether (he’s a) singer, actor, or a broadcaster, and can’t tell whether he’s an idol singer or a strong singer. He’s a person that gives off a different feeling whenever you see him. A completely unidentifiable man. A man that only requires one look for you to fall into his fatal attraction. He, is Kim Heechul.” – Kim Heechul, in an interview with <Dong-a Daily>.

Donghae: Super Junior member. Close enough for Kim Heechul to say things like “even if I risk my life I have to protect him”. They knew that the both of them had fallen for the same girl, and both told the girl that they should treat the other person well. Donghae met Kim Heechul, whom had come from Gangwondo when he went to pick up the “new trainee who came from Gangwondo”. Gangwondo’s legend, Gangwondo’s pride, Gangwondo’s Cinderella, Gangwondo’s famous person, Gangwondo’s living artisan, said that “I’m different from the others since young, my thoughts were also unique, if I sit there and do nothing, I’m afraid that I’ll be isolated by the rest”, so he had fought a lot with others while in school, causing much worries to his parents. However, although his deviant behaviour has caused problems, and that his thoughts were different from the others, but he’s still a good child when it came to studies. In order not to attract too much attention to himself, he changed his left-handed behaviour to right-handed³ , proudly announcing that he was of AB-blood; this was the 10 years or so of his youth. Then when he was in his 20s, he decided to be a celebrity, and searched for “the company with the least number of characters” on the Internet.
BoA: Kim Heechul’s friend. He’s one of the only two male celebrities who know about BoA’s latest whereabouts. When auditioning for SM Entertainment, he sang BoA’s “Valenti”. Although at that time Kim Heechul sang it under the conditions of “not a very good live (performance)”, but the judges for the audition even asked him to sing the ‘national anthem’ as well, and he did well up to the 4th verse. On the day of the auditions, even though he was late, the company still gave him a chance to attend the auditions; it could be seen that the company which was famous for choosing idols based on their looks couldn’t forego his appearance. Nonetheless, SME obviously did not expect for the youth who entered SME in his 20s to have a quirky personality, whom thought that his birthday was “10th July (of the year) 4444”. After getting to know that Heechul had signed a contract with SME, his parents also mentioned that “Please turn our son into someone (respectable)”, and later on when the contract terms were modified, they even said that “just make it 50 years (long)”.
4season: The legendary group of SM, “Spring – Yunho, Summer – Jaejoong, Autumn – Kangin, Winter – Heechul”. Originally it was named as 4season, but when they were taking a sticker photo the ‘a’ was left out, and it became ‘4seson’. In the past, Kim Heechul used to stay in the same dorms as U-Know Yunho and the rest, and also had dancing and singing practices together, whenever he made a mistake, Yunho would always reiterate “Practice 20 more times. Bbabbabba bbabba⁴ ”. He hates to move his body⁵ and hates to sweat, and had gotten very angry because of this. Heechul thinks that he had passed (the auditions) because of his looks, so even though he doesn’t like to sweat, he still accepted the sweat for the sake of keeping his figure. He also used the reason that people who depend on their looks to earn a living will let fans down if they don’t keep up their image well, so he pays a lot of attention to his body.
Super Junior: An idol group that “is open when it comes to money matters, do not involve parents in their problems, and have to reveal all women-related problems”. It’s a known fact that in “Sorry, Sorry”, Kim Heechul only appeared for 4 seconds, but in Super Junior, his part actually has a “heavy presence”. At the beginning of the group’s debut, he attracted everyone’s attention through KBS’s “Banolim”; in SBS’s “Ya Shim Man Man”, he stressed that he was “good-looking”; his narcissism beat even Kara’s Gyuri who has the title “Goddess”, causing Kang Hodong to be extremely surprised. On SBS’s “Full House”, he has attracted attention for his unique concept by appearing in a t-shirt with a skull print and pink bunny slippers. Even though Kangin joked that “If this person is not the main then he won’t appear (on a show)” ⁶, but the reality is that whenever he appears on a show, his role would be close to that of the main role. In Super Junior that gathers idols together, Kim Heechul emanates a special aura in the group through the character of the “handsome 4-dimensional (person)”. During the release of Super Junior’s 2jib, Kim Heechul held the event that goes “when you buy an album shout ‘Kim Heechul, nice!’” for the fans; not only did it shock the fans, but it also brought them closer together.
Park Heebon: An actress whom used to host SBS’s Youngstreet (together with Heechul) in the past. Kim Heechul is currently hosting Youngstreet once again. Kim Heechul, whom loves to imitate the other artists’ songs and dances, naturally showed off his act on the radio. Even while being SBS’s DJ, on the SBS’s World Cup exclusive broadcast he said that “I don’t really want to talk about the rest”, and chose Kim Dongryul and Lee So-eun’s song “Yokshimjaengi” ⁷ to be aired. He even encouraged others to vote. On the matter of a small number of fans bashing the other artists, Heechul said on his Twitter account that “Even though I should protect my fans, but I’m not a sponge, I don’t have the capacity to include everyone under my fold. Those who have to step on the others to idolise me are not my fans”. When pointed out that his looks were probably created from a strange mixture of both male and female appearances, his first reason would be “In the information age, the gap between the rich and the poor can be narrowed”, causing him to continuously attract fans. Han Jay Hee Bum⁸: The cat that Kim Heechul rears. Initially it’s called “Heebum” after merging Heechul and Kibum’s names, and it became “Han Jay Hee Bum” by adding the names of Hankyung and Jay of TRAX who is one of Heechul’s closest friends. Heebum, who didn’t even leave the house even though the apartment unit beneath the dorms was on fire, that made Heechul think that “It wants to be with me until the end”. Heechul said that he had become more sensitive after he started to rear a cat. Because he couldn’t really stand hot things, so he said that he has a “cat’s tongue”, and would occasionally drink with Heebum even though he said that “I like alcohol but I hate drinking”. Before his comeback, he even cut his hair because of his mood. The human cat who is sensitive, hard to approach, “hates being nagged at the most”, and doesn’t require the company’s permission over his hairstyles and outfits on stage. Nonetheless, he really liked the pair of shoes that his fans had made for him, and wore it at once at the radio broadcast. He’s able to made his presence felt, clear about his standpoints, and is able to take care of the things around him. He’s not called an idol suited for entertainment for nothing.
Park Soojin: An actress whom appeared alongside him in SBS’s “Loving You Ten Million Times”. After his debut, Kim Heechul is constantly active as a performer. However, he does not have the mindset of “being successful immediately”, but instead had the thoughts that he should learn things one at a time, and within the span of a few years, he has participated in numerous dramas such as SBS’s “Bad Family”, “Golden Bride”, “Loving You Ten Million Times” among others. Sa Mi-ja has said before that “under the seniors’ guidance, his hardworking appearance is really amazing to see”. Nonetheless, he doesn’t really learn the techniques of acting, and would act according to his own instincts; regardless of the role, he could overlap his own personality with the character and show it to everyone. That is the reason for his roles standing out with a manly image in the dramas he has appeared in up until now. While he blends his own strong personality into his roles, he is also capable of acting out various types of characters; this would cultivate the crossroads that would lead him to future acting activities.
Son Yejin: Kim Heechul’s ideal type. He said that he had proposed to “go on a summer camping trip with Son Yejin” once. He would use “good or not” to describe the female celebrities that he likes, and when asked whether he liked older or younger women, he answered with “younger<older<same age<younger” ⁹. A strange idol that doesn’t officially say that he likes women. This is also perhaps why BoA said that “He’s like an elder sister (to me)”, and his interest of being able to talk just about anything when with girls, but at the same time he also has the principle of not getting too close to them. Aside from that, his relationship with people such as Epik High’s Mithra Jin, Kang Jihwan, Kim Myeongmin, and even with the company’s owner Lee Sooman is also good. However, his concern wasn’t too much on a female’s appearance, but rather to dress up in order to get closer to his feminine appearance and produce the beauty of it. He knows the benefits of having such an appearance in addition to his usually-rough personality; Kim Heechul is able to boast his appearance which was prettier than the girls on variety shows, but is able to transform himself into Son Yejin’s fans in the other programmes, becoming a man who would scream for her. Just by this point alone, he’s a man, but also an idol who is able to accurately fit into the image of a woman, and gather attention and interest through his activities. If he’s in Korea, he’s an SME idol, but if he was born in Japan, then his fate would be none other than to go to Johnny’s¹⁰.
Eunhyuk: Super Junior’s member. His relationship with Heechul, whom always catches attention wherever he goes, became awkward since pointing out the fact that Heechul was wearing red pants for a performance, and after taking the most favoured egg off the kimchi fried rice which Heechul loved the most¹¹. Of course, this was all scripted for the programme. The real reason why Kim Heechul was at odds with the rest of the members was because he had to choose between acting and being a singer, and at times they would even argue with each other for the sake of picking between going for rehearsals or attending filming schedules¹². About the accusations that some fans threw at him for abandoning his activities as a singer, Heechul even said that it was up to the extent that he left the Super Junior fancafe. However, while preparing for “Sorry, Sorry”, he was touched by Eunhyuk whom said that “We left a space for hyung during practice, so you just have to come”, and after talking openly with the other members after a long time, the conflicts were solved. While doing interviews with Super Junior in the past, he wouldn’t talk much because “the other members are all good in talking”, but in the recent years, he has actively participated in the interviews, creating a lively atmosphere. Kim Gura: The MC whom cried “Super Junior is better than TVXQ (in this)!” while they were calling out each other on their secrets on SBS’s Intimate Note. As a fan of Kim Gura, Kim Heechul joked that “I’ve seen you scolding the other artists a lot, but this is the first time I’ve seen you sing”. In the end, on MBC <Goldfish>’s “Radio Star”, he confessed about his affection for Kim Gura to upset him, and in the end he became the permanent MC instead. Kim Heechul, who could get along well with many of the artists, would not say any disparaging remarks regardless of the situation, able to do various types of impersonations, and has vast knowledge about the entertainment industry of the past, may very well be the most appropriate person to host “Radio Star”.
